Super Par American

Cons especially; What would Ayn Rand make of the current vogue for the super rich to give away so much money?
How do you think Ayn Rand would respond to the current crop of multi billionaires (Warren Buffet, Bill Gates) giving away all their money to charity. Not only that, but saying that this is the true success of their lives.
Whilst she seems like an appalling writer to me and a sub par thinker, I know that in American conservative circles she is still held in very high esteem. But does not the actual behaviour of the very, very wealthy seem to run contrary to her philosophy?
Is she liked solely because she is one of the few ever to try and give greed a good name?
She is not "one of the few ever to try and give greed a good name." But I'm being picky. She is possibly the ONLY one who tried to do it on the basis of ethical principles based on the metaphysics of individuality. Whether people understand consciously those principles, they appreciate the sound of her logic. She sounds like she's rationally on their side, not just giving lip service to "everyone has the right to be rich."
As for giving away money, she addressed it once in reverse, regarding the attempt of do-gooders to try to get others to altruistically give money.
She said, the question is whether or not you have to the right to keep your money--her answer to which was: of course you do.
So you also have the right to give it away. But if those who give as much as the Gates and the Buffets, etc. are doing it to keep the altruistic dogs at bay, they are fakers, liars, and have learned to be that way because they didn't learn the morality of individuality that Rand taught.
She would have told those wolves to go to hell. If she had given money, it would not have been to appease those wolves.
