Is it true that We Will Rock You musical will become a movie?
I've heard rumours that Queen are planning to produce the stage musical We Will Rock You into a movie.
I hope this isn't true because it's light is for the stage. It would not work on the screen. The special effects would look ridiculous, the choreography poor and there would be no participation. Well, there would, but not the same way because it isn't 3d. It would take away the magic of it being theatrical.
It may be good as a movie, but.. it just won't have the same atmosphere and same impact on the audience. I think it's better off on stage.
What are your opinions? Do you think WWRY should be left on the stage or become a movie?
Remaking the stage show into a movie version, like "Mama Mia" might be kind of dumb. If they videoed the actual stage show though, like they did "Rent", that would be great! I am in the States, and I don't know if I will ever have the opportunity to see "We Will Rock You" onstage, so I would appreciate seeing it on the big screen, (or at least DVD).
