Special Effect Light

How do you can make your own light saber? (Special Effect only)?
I'm good at video edit so any tip or site to make your own?
This is actually a photography forum, and I understand you're looking for a video help? I'll try to help for what it's worth, though you may get better feedback in the video forums...
Since you're good at video editing, you should know how to use layers and overlay options. Though I doubt you have the time/resources to paint the light rod on every frame, the way Hollywood probably does that.
Here's what I would try (never tried it, this way, though I used the blue screen effect for other things before, and if you do it right, it may just work).
Construct a light saber or buy one at toy store and paint the light part in bright color, ideally perfect green or red or blue. Make sure it's the color which does not appear anywhere else in the frame. Blue is best, red worst, because skin tones are often composed from a great deal of red and green occurs naturally way too often, like grass/leaves/etc.
Film your subject with this bright blue or green light saber. Then use your editing skills. Film a full frame of light that is going to be your "energy" This could be a lightbox with green/red/blue/whatever light you want your saber to be. You can try to make it interesting by varying it a bit, or doing tiny flashes, sparkling or whatever you can film. Just make it full frame and make it interesting..
Use your video editing software to put light on lower layer and your subject with saber on upper layer. That is your subject should cover the light. Then depending on your software use blending/overlay options, and apply "blue screen" option. Use the bright color you chosen for your saber as a filter, and adjust sensitivity, so that the saber is completely transparent, while the rest of the frame is solid. This way the light from a layer below will be taking place of the blade, and you'll have a cool effect of a light saber in subjects hand....
Hope this helps.
