Rgb Color Wash

Colours look washed out?
OK so heres whats happening.
First they are CMYK.
They look fine in bridge and Photoshop but when I save them as either a TIFF or JPEG out of photoshop or resize them using 'Downsize' the colours become washed out.
This has only just started happening 4 images into a batch of 30.
I have been editing them singularly converting them to cmyk, unsharp mask and other small changes.
When saved as RGB, TIFF or JPEG the colours do not change, they stay vibrant and sharp.
However, I am trying to put together a photo booklet for a present for christmas so I need the images to be in CMYK for print.
Why has it started to wash the colours out?
Have I accidently made a change somewhere along the way?
Thanks in advance Jackie
CMYK along with offset printing does not have the same range of colours that you'll be able to achieve in RGB and on screen. Possibly the first few images may not have been in the ranges most affected by this so it may not have been so obvious.
