Motorola Droid got wet, charging indicator & red led works, but nothing else?
Ok, so a few days ago, I jumped into a pool with my droid in my pocket, not realizing it. 5-10 minutes later, I realize it is in my pocket, and get out, dry it off with a towel, dash inside and use compressed air to get in the nooks and cracks of the phone, trying to get the water out. After I feel I have done enough of that I put my phone, keyboard out, in a zip-loc bag with a bunch of rice in it and left it there for two days and change. Tonight, I took the phone out, put the battery back in, along with the SD card, and tried to power it on, to no avail. I plug it into my charger, and the charge indicator light comes on, along with the red light near the top of the phone indicating that I have low battery, but no screen. The battery won't hold a charge is my guessing, but I'm not sure. Help please...?
Hate to bust your bubble of hope but your phone is trashed. I dropped my iphone in the toilet at a restaurant one night and my husband and I tried to do everything possible to it. We even powered it up and it actually came on for a little bit. We were even able to recover some of my files and upload them to the pc before it crashed and burned. When I took it to apple to have it looked at, the tech told me water was trapped in the phone and sloshing around when he opened it.
It may be dry on the outside but the main parts to the phone are destroyed. If no insurance like me and my phone then you will have to just fork out the money to get another like my hubby did for me. Good luck. It sucks I know but we all do it at one point or another.
