Cables needed for a Shure SM58?
Just got one... I have a male xlr three pin 3metre cable that plugs into a computer. Except, it does not plug in to the microphone, the cable looks like this:

That is what the end of the microphone looks like as well though... I need something that will plug into the shure sm58 mic and the computer... I cannot find it anywhere, where is one and what is it called?
Also, what does a preamp do and do I need one?

I don't know where to get this in the UK though.
A better way to do this is to get a USB audio interface - it will work way better than your computer's sound card:

All you need is the interface, SM58 mic and a standard XLR male to female mic cable.
