How long can light - weight steel trusses stand on our roof? 50 years? 100 years? or lifetime?
1.)with a steel coated with either zinc ( which call G.I ) or zinc + aluminium ( which call Zincalume ) and the total coated thickness (TCT) is only 0.80mm for the C-Section And 0.50mm for the batten.
2.)C-Section Height is +- 73mm ; Width +-38.5mm.
3.)And Batten Top Width is +-26mm ; Bottom Width +-63mm ( included the wings to screw in ) ; Height is +- 32mm ;
4.)Screw used is Self Drilling Screw #10 x 5/8 ZPH
5.)L-Bracket that we used to join the Rafters and the Trusses is only 1.6mm (THK)
If the Roof is Made of Concrete Tiles...how long it can stand?
If the Roof is Made of Metal Decks...how long it can stand then?
If the environment there is far from sea side & free from weather polution...how long it can last...?
If the roof was engineered and design properly and with proper maintenance, it should last a lot longer than 50 years and over 100 years.
The Eiffel Tower has been around for well over 100 years.
