DOES THE DISC OF GLOBE VALVE ROTATES DUE TO FLUID FLOW OR NOT?
Actually i have some confusion because i saw some heavy(6 inches or more) globe valves internals showing the disc rotation as a built in feature, i just wana confirm it plz, thnx
It depends on how the disc is attached to the stem of the valve. As you can see in the cross section of the globe valve shown at the site below. It is possible for the disc to rotate.
There can be some benefit to this type of action but there can also be a problem is rotation is sufficient to cause the disc to detach from the stem.
