You get a picture perfect studio set up with this new kit from JTL. Kit includes three of their well known Everlites plus a boom stand all lights come with a heavy duty metal reflector and two 33" white umbrellas. The boom lite is excelent for highliteing the subjects hairline and getting just enough seperation from the background. You will not find JTL quality at this price anywhere else. 1500 WATTS TOTAL POWER.
Looks like a good starter kit, but it's no good to you unless you have a good light meter - your ETTL metering will not be able to do it, as it typically only works with ambient light and built-in or shoe flashes.
I would consider also getting a softbox, about 20"x30" is a nice size for individual portraits (which I am guessing you are interested in, based upon the kit description)
I have never owned JTL, so I couldn't speak to the quality of the lights specifically (I have Bowens) but it's definitely going to be good enough to get up to speed with studio lighting, based upon the seller's description.
Other things that you may want to investigate further are whether the lights feature modeling lamps (so you can pinpoint where light and shadows will fall) and how quickly the lights are ready to fire (the recycle time to full power) which, I am expecting will be a little slower on a less expensive kit like this.
