My fog machine I just bought smells like smoke, and I'm afraid it will set off a smoke detector?
Is this normal? And WILL it set off the smoke detector in my house? The label says "for indoor use only," if that helps.
Oreos40, I was just wondering, how come the smoke detector in my bathroom doesn't go off every time I take a shower?
What kind of smoke does it smell like? If it smells electrical, I'd be worried. But some fog machines do create a smell, depending on what's used to make the fog. Some people barely notice it but some can really smell it. I used to work on movie sets where they use fog machines a lot, and they used to always have a pretty distinctive smell though these days they are using less toxic stuff than they did. Check the manual, see what it says about the machine producing an odor.
