I'm looking to become a DJ, is this good equipment to get for starters? Is there anything else I would need?
This is the equipment I will be buying for $800:
2 peavey 118 speaker cabinets with Horn , Midrange and 18" subs , 1 1820x numark mixer , 1 Peavey cs 1000 power amp , 1 elation light controller , 1 power supply all in slant rack case , also have empty 8 space case , 1 light tree with 12" stand and 4 elation pin spots $800
Is this a good deal? Someone please help
Thanks Jeremy
Jeremy - This sounds like a good deal depending on the condition of the equipment. Make sure you get the person selling it to you to connect every piece to make sure it all works together (the sound equipment).
The only thing I am confused about is the Peavey 118 speakers. They are subwoofers. You need main full range speakers also. Maybe you forgot to include that model number.
The only thing you might want to add to that system is a separate amplifier for the subs. Subs use a lot of power and a Peavey CS1000 puts out about 500 watts into 8 ohms per channel. That is not a lot of power for both the mains and subs.
This is a good cheap amp for the subs or mains:
