Anyone know the name of this effect in photography?
The effect when i think a camera is slowed down and the lights from moving cars become long beams of light?
For example like this photo:

Yeah.. This hard to get special EFX is called - a time exposure....
The amazing thing with time exposures is that when used with any camera that is able to do this, you can use any lens or zoom setting you want. Wide angles. Telephotos.. It don't matter as long as the lens fit the needs you had in mind..
Some people have found that if their camera can take some kind of remote shutter release AND they found out their camera has a B setting (for very long time exposures) they could actually get stars spinning in the night sky as the earth turned, lightning of a on coming storm, Northern Lights (if living in a area where seen) and all kinds of neat things. Some have even attached their camera to a telescope and gave 5 to 30 minute exposures and captured things the human eye could never see.
Truth is stranger than fiction sometimes.
