Animate Laser Light
What movie is this??

Ok. So there's this movie I watched a LONG time ago. I don't remember what year but it was in the 90s. Anyway, the movie starts out with a girl and she's taking a flower or something and putting it into a tube of some sort and this guy named Gray saves her from this alien thing(this is all animated but it looks like real people, i mean, it was some really good animation). So later on in the movie Gray gets attacked by one of the aliens and they sit him on this table and take a laser and shoot the alien thing out of him until it's gone. And the girl also has these dreams of the aliens attacking and she saves them or something. In the end, Gray sacrifices himself to save everyone in this huge beam of light that comes out of the ground and everyone is saved and the aliens die and bla bla bla. Him and the girl also had a fling in the past and they fall in love all over again in the movie and yea...anyone know what movie it is??

Final Fantasy: The Spirits Within (2001)

IMDB synopsis:
In the year 2065, a meteor has crashed onto Earth unleashing an invading race of millions of strange phantom-like alien creatures who roam the Earth, decimating field and city alike, threatening to extinguish life itself. But, a brilliant young female scientist, Dr. Aki Ross, makes a last stand on Earth with the help of a ragtag team of soldiers against an invasion of alien phantoms. She seeks information about their purpose and physiology, assisted by her mentor, Dr. Sid, and the Deep Eyes military squad of courageous Captain Gray Edwards, Aki's old friend. Tension develops between Aki's quest to stop the alien onslaught through study and the more extreme solution favored by the vengeful, saber-rattling General Hein, who would destroy both the aliens and the Earth itself!

I'm not a fan of the type of CGI used in Pixar stuff, but this is beautiful! I would love to see more films done in this style. I have yet to see anything that quite matches the artistry of "Final Fantasy". At times, it almost tricks the eyes and mind. I'm not a videogame person, so all of this was new to me and remains impressive.
